I worked in the Sacks Lab, Cornell Department of Viticulture and Enology, as a laboratory research assistant from Aug 2018 - Aug 2019. Here, I was mostly involved in the Vitis Gen project where I assist Dr. Noam Reshef with the wet laboratory stuff.
Sacks lab Investigates the effects of pre-and post-harvest compounds on the organoleptic properties of grapes and wines. My roles include;
1. Measuring and analyzing brix, pH, metals and acid composition in grape and wine samples.
2. Sampling several treatments and control grapes for further processing.
3. Preparing slurries and juice of varieties of grapes in order to measure chemical compouds.
4. Micro-pipetting, chemical media preparation using sterile techniques.
